Newly published body camera footage from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot shows a chaotic scene as the mob assaults a cop — who pleads with the crowd to release him.

The footage, published by CNN Wednesday night, shows DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone on the ground outside a Capitol entrance, surrounded by the rioters who had dragged him downstairs, beaten him and zapped him with a Taser.

Some cheer as Fanone struggles with the crowd.

“I got one!” one of the rioters shouts amid the chaos, the video shows.

Fanone pleads with the crowd to let him go, the footage shows — at one point screaming that he has kids.

Fanone, who suffered a mild heart attack after the riot, had previously said the riot was the “most brutal, savage hand-to-hand combat of my entire life.”

After members of the mob attack him, some in the crowd come to his aid, helping clear rioters off him so he can make his way back into the Capitol, the video shows.

Fellow cops then call for medics and help pull Fanone to safety, according to the footage.

Five people — including a Capitol Police officer — died in or soon after the riot, when throngs of President Donald Trump supporters stormed the building in an attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

Federal prosecutors have since brought charges against hundreds of alleged rioters in Washington, DC, district court.
