Memphis-based rapper Big Boogie was among two dozen people arrested in connection to an interstate drive-by shooting in Mississippi on Thursday, a new report said.
One person was wounded in the shooting that took place on Interstate 55 near Coldwater at about 1 p.m., Fox 13 reported, citing authorities.
Witnesses told police shots were fired from several vehicles on the roadway before police caught them on Hwy 6, the report said.
The vehicles that fled the scene were part of a crew following Big Boogie to Biloxi for a Thursday night performance, according to the Panola County Sheriff’s Office.
Police arrested 24 people, including the rapper, and impounded four cars.
The shooting victim was inside a car that drove to nearby Huddle House, waiting there until police arrived.
Police found a gun, drugs and cash inside the vehicle, the report said.
No charges were immediately announced.
The trap artist has released several popular songs, including “Mental Healing” and “Thuggin,” which have over 23 million and 3 million views, respectively, on YouTube.
